... just that the added resolution of component video has given you such a clear, focussed picture, they are no longer blurred and can be clearly seen. The solution is to use a line doubler.John

i really dont understand. the picture is a total mess and you are telling me that it is normal? i thought component video is supposed to improve the picture not make it worse. and what is a line doubler and why cant my tv handle it?
Sounds like I misinterpreted. Not all TVs are designed to take component (RED, Blue, Green) and it sounds like yours does not have the 3 sockets. Either get a new monitor or go back to s-video. Forget about a line doubler - a red herring in this case!John

i do have component video inputs on my set. (y, cr, cb) and i have the component video outputs on my dvd player. i am sure of both of these things. so what do you make of this?
... it looks like there is a lack of synchronisation between the two units. There is usually a sych signal on one of the 3 (y, cr, cb) but maybe the player & set are not compatible. On our HT set up the synch is a separate line from the switcher/enhancer to the projector (meaning 4 lines) yet it is OK between the DVD (Toshiba) & the switcher/enhancer on the 3 lines. Check out where the synch signal is going & it might be the answer to your difficulty. Ask a techo the solution - I'm getting out of my depth!!!Let us know what you find,
