It's time to upgrade my VCR, and I would like to give DVD a try. This deck has both and can be found for around $325 new. The way my video is set up, separates will not fit in the cabinet without some woodworking. I am looking for opinions about the quality of this unit, given that the price point is about where I want to be. I realize this is low end, but anything will be an improvement over the 8 yr old Panasonic VCR I am running now.

I have no idea about the quality, but I think you have answered your own question...better than an eight year old vcr.
