I recieve a DTV signal from Time Warner Cable in NYC. Does anyone know what type of signal they broadcast? 480i, 480p, 1080i or is it based on what channel they are broadcasting. Supposedly FOX and CBS in NY broadcast in HDTV, is that what I am getting through the cable DTV signal? Also, my cable is hooked up to to my TIVO and then to my pre-amp and then hooked up to the Fujitsu plasma all through s-video. do i need to go component to get an hdtv signal?

I have DTV from Time Warner Cable too here in Queens. I asked a service technician if I may get HDTV signal from the cable box. He said yes and he also said that he saw some one uses a HDTV receiver with the box. The picture was wonderful. I am thinking about getting a RCA HDTV receiver. PC Richard sells that unit for $549.00. You may get it from RCA directly for same price. It is www.rca.com. The RCA unit gets Sterephile Guide to Home Theater 2001 Editor's Choice Platinum Award. So, I bet it is worth the money. Anyway, I may call or send email to Time Warner Cable to confirm that. Or I may contact RCA to see what they say.
