Help!! I'm looking for a small footprint speaker that is wall mountable (ie. not too heavy) that I can use as front speakers in a HT setup. I am not looking for earthshattering bass, I rarely play movies very loud, nor do I go for big budget special effect movies. Something with good sound, that will sound good with music also. Any suggestions would be helpful. Unfortunately the wall-mounting is a must. Thanks....

You may want to try some of the Klipsch Synergy bookshelves. Don't know what your budget is, but KSB-3.1 and 2.1 are discontinued and can be found fairly inexpensively. They're front-ported which lends itself to wall mounting.
Hi Chris, I'm an avid lover of Polk Audio speakers, and they've got several possibilites for your needs. I've had Polk speakers for years, in fact my main/front speakers are the same ones I've had for at least 20 years, and they're still great sounding. Polk speakers are great for music as well as watching movies, a speaker isn't a good speaker unless it sounds good no matter what it's producing. They have a speaker called the R-10, which is a bookshelf speaker. It has a 5.25 inch mid/bass driver and a trilaminate tweeter, it handles 100 watts, has good frequency response, 55hz to 22khz and they sound great. I've got 4 of them for surround speakers in my HT system. They only sell for $80 each, but I know where you can get them a lot cheaper. Have you got a center channel speaker?? That's the most important speaker in a HT system in my opinion. It has a lot of work to do. If you'd like, email me and I'd be glad to help you out more if you'd like, I'd be glad to, I live for this stuff!!!! My email address is sfoline@stny.rr.com just in case it doesn't come up on the site as it should. Dinner is served!! Peace SteveF
