Hello...I listen to mainly music, but have recently implemented a tv into my listening room. I dont watch movies to often however am looking for an inexpensive receiver with 5.1 and DTS, that will satisfy me well for strictly movies. Im looking at a maximum of 350 dollars, and many features are not needed at all. I would like a basic receiver. All your help is appreciated.
Follow Ups:
The TX-DS575 is widely hailed, and I've seen it on the net for just under $400. Otherwise, I've seen Onkyo's TX-DS484 for as low as $260. Onkyo specs power ratings at RMS rather than peak, so they'll appear to be low.
Andrewz,
You can get a Yamaha RXV-596 at www.crazyeddie.com for $350.00 + S/H. I ordered one from there two weeks ago for my brother in law. It has 100watts per channel,DD,DTS and a tuner. Can't beat it for the money. I think you'll be very happy.
Happy New Year!

Try the Technics SA-AX7/AC-SH500D combination. I believe the receiver/surround processor last went for $399 at Crutchfield, so you can probably pick it up for $299/$349 at J&R, ShoppersAdvantage (if you are a member) or on some internet sites. For a desciption, go to panasonic.com and go to the Technics section. The receiver does all "surround receiver" things and the processor handles Dolby Pro-Logic, Dolby Digital and DTS in the digital domain.
By the way, this receiver has 6 amplifier outputs instead of the normal 5. Most surround receivers just have a line out for a powered sub, but this one (SA-AX 7 or the older SA-AX 6) gives you both an amplifier channel for a passive sub and a line level output for a powered sub.
If you can stretch a bit and forgoe DTS (not needed if you don't really watch movies much), then get the Nakamichi AV8. It excels on music more than any receiver up to $1000, except it's bigger brother the AV-10.Ebay has some for bid around $400 now.
