In Reply to: SUBWOOFER FOR B&W MATRIX 805/HTM MATCH FOR BOSTON PV1000??? (sorry, long post) posted by Rocket on December 30, 2000 at 06:12:18:
Why are you limiting yourself to these? I had the PV1000 at home. It will not go much below 30 with power. I would recommend instead a HSU TN1220HO with amp. About the same price as the Boston's but goes much lower, louder and with less distortion. Another good choice would be the TN1225. You give up 5hz on the low end but it's a bit easier on the eyes.

Thanks.I am not sure that HSU are available in Australia, I certainly cannot find any retailers locally (Sydney area) that stock the product so I really don't have a wide variety to choose from.
The room is not that large and I was thinking that a smaller sub would be ample - are there any other brands that might suit?
I am not a bass-head so don't really need a floorshaking, wall rattling sound - just some decent extension for the matrix 805's and a bit of chest thump for the Home Theatre.
Can you suggest anything else?
Thanks again.
Hsu's are available in Australia. Check out the link below.
Thanks.
