Do I need both a dvd-player with DTS-output + reciever with DTS.
or do I just need one of them to be able to get DTS?
Follow Ups:
Tom P is correct, but there is another option as well. If your receiver decodes DD but not DTS, you can get DTS without replacing you receiver with the unsavory strategy of purchasing a DVD player with a DTS decoder and passing all 6 channels in the analog domain from the DVD's pre outs to the receiciver's pre ins (provided it has them). Lots of messy cords.
You need both DVD with a DTS output capable and a receiver/processor with on board DTS decoder.
