Does anyone have any information as to the correct settings on both the receiver and DVD player for taking advantage of the DD decoder onboard the DVD player? The receiver has a ProLogic decoder onboard but is only DD ready. The receiver does not have Digital inputs supporting coaxial or optical connections, it does have 5.1 inputs.
The manual for the DVD is confusing. It states if using Digital input/output then set the following DVD parms: DOWNMIX to Dolby Surround, DIGITAL OUT to on, DOLBY DIGITAL to D-PCM, DTS to off and 48kHZ/96kHz PCM to 48kHz/16 bit. The receiver manual does not state what the audio parms should be set to. I believe the SOUND FIELD type should be set to CINEMA and the mode to C.STUDIO and not PRO LOGIC. Both manuals do not specify which settings should be used if you are using the 5.1 inputs instead of digital connection cords.
