What is the native resolution (actual pixels x and y) of an HDTV signal? I know the y value is 1080 (interlaced), but what is the x value?thanx

Follow Ups:
The Y axis is 1080, divide by 9 and you get 120.
16*120 = 1920So, it's 1920*1080i.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
So what could be derived from your math is that the pixels are exactly square...is that accurate?thanx...

It's a dot trio that makes up a circle. Not a square. They don't have to be perfectly square to fit inside your square tube :-).
Sony's Trinitron based displays do uses a rectangular "pixel" though.
