I started with the Lexicon DC-1, moved to the Proceed AVP, and like you, thought it was a significant step up. I still own the Proceed, but I'm now trying a Classe' SSP-75. I think the Classe' may be a small bit better as a processor of DVD surround and CD's using its DACs, but I actually like the Proceed's analog bypass better (probably because volume control is kept in analog domain with the AVP). My AVP just got back from Proceed, being spec'd out and making sure all software is up to date. I may move it, depending on how the Classe' audition goes; e-mail me if you're interested.

"My AVP just got back from Proceed, being spec'd out and making sure all software is up to date."Can you tell me what you had done, and if there was any cost? I too have an AVP. Been trading messages w/Madrigal as to whether they'll be updating the software (been 7 months since the last update). Wondering what they did for you.
Thanks,
Larry
Larry, all I can tell is that Proceed replaced an EPROM (my music surround mode was not functioning correclty); there are a couple of other items on the repair sheet but I can't make them out. Software upgrades are the only thing I'm upset with Proceed about; they have been promising the 96/24 software for almost 3 years!!! I don't have the software data here with me, but I don't think it's anything newer than the last upgrade 6 months (or so) ago.
Thanks. Last software update was in June 2000.Madrigal e mailed me last week that they are planning to update the software this summer to offer Dolby/DTS ES/EX, and "a number of other feature enhancements." We'll have to see.
