Hi all, I am thinking hard about upgrading my receiver from the Marantz SR 7000 in favor of something that can handle a little more speaker. I am thinking of buying some Aliante Stile speakers, which are rated at 6 ohms, and I don't think the Marantz can handle them. Anyway, I have a friend who recently purchased the Arcam AVR100, and I think it's a great receiver for the $. I also like the Denon AVR-3801as it supports the new DTS-ES surround formats and is a little more powerful than the Arcam. I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on either of these units, and any alteratives I might consider. Any comments would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks
SW

Only you can answer this, but make sure anything you buy meets "your" future needs. For example, if you think you may be buying a multichannel DVD-Audio or SACD player, make sure your receiver has 5.1 or even 6.1 (if that's what you may want) inputs. If you think you may upgrade by adding amps, make certain it has separate outputs for amps.
Your Marantz has six-channel preamp outputs so your bet would be to invest in a decent multi-channel amp - you'll get better sound and the ability to drive more difficult speaker loads.
