please don't take this the wrong way as in pioneer is bad sort of way
but from what I have read on different digital pieces including cd
players it's a cost cutting measure ,they could do both but it would
raise the price or cut into the profit margin

I'm waiting on a reply from Pioneer, but if what you say is true, I'm pretty p-oed. This unit wasn't cheap and while it provides a great picture you would think for the money it could handle both connections. Thanks for your input.
