... when first released & I still have one in a secondary system. However processors have improved dramatically lately so you would be better to spend dollars on a used DD Lexicon with the caveat it be used for HT only. I gather they are not so good for music. Note that the newer processors can do a dramatically better job with Dolby pro-logic as well as handling DD.Inmates might have better suggestions than the Lexicon.
Bear in mind in all of this that because processors are changing & improving so rapidly they depreciate much more heavily than other audio/video gear. A recent used unit can therefore be obtained quite reasonably.
Good hunting

John,
Thanks for the info. I recently got back into my A/V system. It's been sitting in the back room for 2.5 years, talk about withdrawls.
Setting up a special A/V room. Takes time and $$$$$$$$$$...
The rest of my system is a pair of Quickies M60 mono's Audible Illusions Mod. m3. Vandersteens 2ce's quick. GLA. Dpa digital T1 transport and the bigger bit. After speaking w/ my audio dealer Audio connection in N.J. I know understand why he suggested I look at the Rotel RSP976 for the low end and the Lex DTS for the high end.
SO what you suggest now makes sense. Oh well mo money, mo money, mo money!!!!!!
Thanks
I was reading over on the AVSience forum that Jim Fosgate will be starting a company and will have new Digital processors out soon with DPL-II. I'm looking forward to evaluating this processor as a candidate for providing both music and HT in a single system for my room. They expect to have a company representative participate in a Q&A session on their forum sometime around 2/25/01.
The 2 links are Q&A session announcement and CES announcement:
