In Reply to: DIY Composite to S-Video??? posted by DenaliX on January 28, 2001 at 09:22:29:
The composite video has all the info mushed together in one signal. The S-VHS signal is in two parts. To separate the mushed up signal of composite to be S-VHS would take a comb filter. The TV has one... but to "make" one..????? just to use a cable? It might be possible but not on the cheap. An electronics buff might have the parts to whip one up but not me.... nor would I want to use one if at all possible to skip it.
It might??? be possible to go from a S-vhs into a composite with less trouble, but the other way no.
