In Reply to: Boss Wants $2000 HT Speaker Recommendation - Help Needed ASAP! posted by Gerry E. on January 30, 2001 at 14:59:17:
For a simple but credible answer, have a look at Paradigm's recommended systems. The one with the Monitor 5 would meet the need for good stereo sound. It's one of the few brands that neophytes and audiophiles both know and like. The recommended set is timbre matched, with a powerful sub, both required for good HT.Hope that gets you a bonus this year.

Hi Dan:Thanks for the quick reply and excellent advice! I checked out the Paradigm website as you suggested and it seems like one of those middle priced complete systems would be just about perfect.
Since you brought up the bonus issue, I was going to offer to donate 10% of my 2001 bonus to the AA in the name of the person who came up with the best advice. Of course 10% of nothing is...
Thanks again!
Gerry
Check-out the Atlantic Technology 4.5 system. www.atlantictechnology.com. $1800. Outstanding for HT and very good for music as well. The high gloss black finish looks pretty good too!
