What would you think of a vacuum tube preamplifier for surround sound or home theatre?
Follow Ups:
Anthem, a subsidiary of Sonic Frontiers, has a valve Home Theater preamplifier. I don't know the price neither the critics.See www.sonicfrontiers.com

I'm sorry to disappoint you rg, the Anthem AVM-2 is a purely solid state design, no tubes inside at all.Regards,
I think it would be awfully expensive.....BAT is about to unveil their VK-AV10 Preamp/Processor, but I don't know if it has a tube based output stage for all channels, or just the front channels. I hate to say it like this, but the BAT will be very
expensive (ca. US$10K)Golden Theater was working on a 6922-based output stage when they folded. I'm glad I didn't send it in for installation :)
Cary Audio, which is known for its tube heritage has a pre/pro that is solid state, not tube based.
So, it isn't easy to do :(
