On some DPL processors, the center channel has a bass rolloff at about 100Hz. This is call the "normal" mode, but really should be called the "standard" mode because so many processors default to this mode (or only have this mode). The two other modes are for 1) no center channel and for 2) a full range center channel (or a center channel with its own subwoofer for bass frequencies) which is called "wide" mode (as in a "wide" frequency response). Hope this helps.

Thanks Joe, that answers part of my question but what I would really like to know is, is it normal for the sub to not function in Pro Logic mode?
Right now, I have absolutely *NO* idea if you even have your sub wired into your system. The more detail you include, the more help others can give.
The little voices told me that soap is the hallmark of civilization.
Have it working now. The manual seems to have disappeared, methinks the two year old my have something to do with that. Anyway, changed a couple of settings and all is better now. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
