Don't know if anyone else here gets into this kind of stuff, but Carl Sagan Studios has recently released Sagan's award-winning Cosmos series on DVD. It has been digitally restored and enhanced, with a new 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack. It already was great to watch, with all the gorgeous outside locations and special effects (and included some of the first computer generated effects ever used)-only Sagan's bell bottoms and big hair dates the series. And, the DVD's are "region zero" types-they can be played on any player on the planet.http://carlsagan.com/cosmosstore/index.html
If anyone happens to have these, I was wondering how good the images and sound were, as they seem like good test discs for a home theater.
If you have never seen this series, and are the type to give the sky a quick look while taking out the garbage at night and wondering about those Big Questions, you need to watch. You don't need a degree in anything to enjoy this sweeping story/documentary, just an imagination. It's an awesome, 13 hour ride. Peace out.
