I have recently purchased a Harman Kardon DVD 1.0 and it is an excellent machine except it is not multi zone (which I was aware of when I purchased it. I am interested to know if anyone is aware of if it is possible to and if so how to enter the manufacturers set-up menus to set it to multi-zone??

There are kits available, also for this brand and model. This is what I saw on a Dutch site (you can order DIY kits here):Specs for Harman Kardon 1
Supports disks with region: 1.2.3.4.5.6
RCE proof for regions: 1.2.3.4.5.6
Region switching by remote control: Yes
Level of difficulty for DIY kit: easy
Price for a Do It Yourself kit: $69.00
Price when installed: $89.00.00Good Luck.
... so common here that few if any machines are sold without multi zone capability. Some time ago most added on about the equivalent $USD50 to cover the conversion but it is relatively simple so may be done at no charge these days. Sorry I have no details about how to do it. A really dumb idea from manufacturers to restrict software sales to one region.Caution: some zones like ours use the PAL system and your H-K may not be able to read that if it is a USA only machine and USA TV may not be able to handle it either. Sony's and most TV brands sold here handle both PAL & NTSC.
