i say go for it since size matters :) however we have the direct view set 9 feet away and it is enveloping. the monitor looks better once you get it home, even in day time with regular satellite stuff. in home theater environment with a bias light, it is the best i've seen; if you then switch to component video with dvd source, it's killer.
