Great info, John!Is a different setup needed for NTSC and PAL (i.e. would the technician also have to know about NTSC signals and peripherals)?
Thanks, Jan

I can only answer with reference to Barco. Our set up has 6 inputs. Each has its own set of parameters.
Two of our inputs are from sources which can read PAL and NTSC software - a laserdisc player and a DVD player. The player and the projector automatically detect which system is being supplied. However there can be different parameter settings for PAL than for NTSC. The Barco has a series of memory banks which store the info. Once the Barco is set up the only two settings the user needs to alter are the source and the screen size (4:3, 16:9, 2.35:1 etc).
So, to answer your question, the technician would use NTSC & PAL software (DVD or LD) to help set it all up for each input & video type.
John
