I have a Yamaha 795A Home Theater reciever. Can anyone tell me if I should plug it into a Monster surge protector, or straight into the wall outlet.I heard surge protectors rob some of the power?

hi,
i plug my receiver into a monster surge protecter and have not noticed any reduction in power. i actually noticed some subtle improvements in music when using it. BUT, i live in an old high rise building in center city philadelphia. from what i understand, power in my situation is very "dirty" so i was bound to hear a difference. if you live in a rural or suburban area you may not benefit as greatly as i did. btw, i bought the hts-2000 based largely on its great reviews.
Use the Surge protector! If you don't there will come a day of very expensive repairs.
