I'm using a Proceed AVP processor & Proceed PMDT DVD transport with an RCA 32" TV. I have the option of RCA & S-video for video in's on the TV. I'm running S-video from the processor to the TV. What's commonly done with the main video source? Is it run just to the processor or can it be run to the processor & TV (processor for recording distribution & TV for best viewing quality)? In my situation, I'd be going from the DVD composite in to the TV. How'd switching work in this situation? In other words, how would I switch the video directly to the TV for viewing or to the processor for recording?
Thanx!
Mike

If you can use S-video, use it, even though with a 32" TV, you will not notice much, if any, difference between composite and S-video. With a 50" plus projection TV, you should notice a difference. Some people avoid the processor video switching and go direct to the TV. I tested my Rotel pre/pro/switcher and could not tell a difference. I do not go direct to TV from DVD.
I do need to run both composite and S-video connections from my processor/switcher to the TV. The VCR and Cable TV only support composite. So I use S-video when I play DVD and composite for VCR and Cable.
