I am in the market for a Sony large screen TV. I checked online stores and they are a lot less expensive compare to regular stores. But I am concerned that TVs are bulky and heavy, returning and servicing can be difficult and expensive. I will definitely do background checks on the stores. But even so, are the two hundred dollar savings worth the potential hassles of buying online? Any suggestions very much appreciated.

Crazy Eddie - I saved about $1800 versus the local ripoffs. They deliver via Bekins Van Lines and these guys were excellent. That was my worry. No tax outside of NJ...ahem. Check their web site...but read the fine print/policies on returns.-- Greg
I got a 34" 16:9 Panasonic set online a while back. I saved a LOT of money. I gave the local Circuit City a chance to come close and they couldn't - especially when you factor in the 7%+ sales tax I'd have to pay locally. Shipping wasn't a problem. The thing weighs around 200 pounds so they shipped it freight (?) not UPS and I had to meet the guys at my house. There was some confusion about tracking the shipping but it all worked out. I think I used dealmountain.com. I'd do it again, no doubt. Good luck. Eric H
