How does the Sony Virtual 6.1 surround mode compare with the real thing...ie a "hard" 6.1 mode ?I'm posting here because Asylum members appear to be far more objective than the one-eyed doofii populating the Sony user forums.
Does anyone really believe the Sony TA-E9000ES with the latest upgrades is a giant killer processor ?
I own one of these and no way does it sound better than seriously good processors like the Classes or Lexicons.

I like the Virtual Theater B for DD,DTS and Prologic on the 333ES I use as my HT processor. I believe it is very impressive.-CAL
I agree with Cal for the most part, but true 6.1 sound is more, umm, percise....More natural. Not that the virtual sound is bad with the 333ES. I can live with vitural 6.1 but my tastes aren't very refined and I don't have the room, or desire, to bother with more speakers.Jeff
