I've owned the 30pw9815 since Dec. 2000. The picture is crisp and bright. There is plenty of factory programmed choices for sound type and picture type for non-tweakers. However watching normal TV in Zoom (14:9) sometimes text and graphics would run below/above the viewing area. I felt the picture dispalyed a little bit off-center to the right. So after some research I found that there is a service technician code that will allow you to adjust the picture output parameters (H-Amp, V-Amp, to name a few) for 4:3 geometry, 14:9(Zoom) geometry and if you own a ST-Box, HD-Geometry to your hearts content. Using the remote press (quickly)'0-6-2-5-9-6 Info+' Make sure you right down the initial values before you start tweaking any of the geometries. After considerable experimentation it is possible to almost completely eliminate the problems associated with watching 4:3 normal TV in 16:9 format screen. Be patient. Note that there are some menus you shuldn't adjust, once you are in if you don't understand what an adjustment does it's best left alone. The code should work to access the 34pw9815 menus as well. I would like to know what other owners think of this HDTV
