My limited experience has suggested video does not benefit from guru cords the way audio does. The power drain in a TV is fairly constant because of the consumption of the CRT tube and video interference due to electrical problems are usually pretty obvious. Ghosting is the worst picture killer for free to air and the cable pictures I've seen in the US are pretty ordinary so I really doubt that a power cord would make any difference to the picture resolution. The best pictures we get here are from digital satellite transmissions but I've never been tempted to worry about the power cord.John
Follow Ups:
I have 3 Adcom and a Monster5000, and several low priced ($75 - $120) power cords... and have played with them in various combinations, and have to say that they DO affect the clarity of the picture, and in combination, the blackness of black. I have a Sony 36XBR400. I have been thinking of putting an IEC plug into the back of the set to be able to play with the cord too.
I say go for it.
