In Reply to: got 2000 to spend, whats the most bang for buck tv?................. posted by rob base on March 27, 2001 at 03:05:48:
It is a rear projection, 53" HDTV ready TV that costs about $2,800. It is fairly slim, and 2 people carried it no problem into my small studio apartment. The picture is BREATHTAKING, especially considering Sony's DRC technology which triples line resolution, or something like this. There are NO LINES to speak of!!! My budget was originally $1,500 but Circuit City offered no interest payments for a year (I had to apply for the credit thing which took 5 minutes). My wife got pissed, but I HAD TO HAVE IT! I must be crazy! Anyone who is in the market for a rear projection TV has got to check out this Sony model. It trounces TV's that cost 3 times as much!!! Check out the reviews at audioreview.com Good luck man!
Follow Ups:
I was seriously considering this TV until I noticed it got dropouts when viewing a 1080i signal everytime the picture went black or had bright scenes...I was wondering if you've experienced the same problems. ( more info in my post below )
Will they give me interest free credit on a new Sony 53" widescreen that is so affordable I have already binned my old set just on the cosmic vibes I received from your post? I do hope so, although I will need to have a few extra dollars to cover the speeding ticket I will undoubtably pick up, racing down the freeway to throw my deposit at them. Will I need extra third party medical insurance, to cover the operations the salesman will need, after I rip his arm off?So what if the wife and kids starve, thats her fault for staying with me, who need food when you can have a 53" television? Who said size doesn't matter?
Thankyou to the adman! Your commisions in the post. lol
