Need help...this deal seems to good to pass up, but is it? My local dealer is discontinuing Loewe and will sell me a brand new 30" Planus for $1700.00 (16:9 loewe, in case you don't know).I had previously been looking at RPTV's like the Tosh 40H80 - can I expect a significant improvement in quality of television and picture with the Loewe? What about reliability, etc.?
Thanks for your help
Follow Ups:
I have heard of dealers selling Planus sets for a bit over $1K. It is the best tube I have ever seen. However, it is not a HD set like the Toshiba. It is compatible with 480p, but most people use RCA's box for high def which outputs 540p which does not work. If you are stickly looking at it for DVDs and normal TV, go for it. If you are considering HD, look elsewhere. BTW, Loewe TV have a tremendous track record for reliability and is a much better built product than the Toshiba (or any other tv in that general price range). Talk your dealer down. I bet he or she got the set really cheap based on what I've heard.
