  get yourself one of the test DVD discs from Joe Kane (Video Essentials) or Avia. Once you've set it up via the disc, your contrast setting will be much lower.

    I'll do that, thanks. Just one problem, I havn't purchased a DVD player yet. This was my next question. I borrowed one last week and it did my TV justice...

      I'm looking at the Harman/Kardon DVD 50 progressive scan DVD. Don't know much about it since its so new.
