In Reply to: Anyone have a Panasonic HD tube tv? posted by Plavan on April 13, 2001 at 22:09:56:
i don't own either but i know plenty about them. panasonic makes some of the best quality stuff on the market. i would definitely buy the panasonic over the sony. in my own ventures with sony i have been completely dissatisfied. every company is developing all new technologies and sony is trying to play catch up. they have yet to bring out a progressive-scan dvd player for under a thousand dollars and their stuff always needs after-maket tuning to correct factory settings. panasonic has had a fine history of making items that last a lifetime. i own a panasonic dvd player, speakers, and vcr. i wouldn't trade them for anything. the panasonic tv is going to give you much more enjoyment watching a progressive dvd. in my opinion sony is behind the times and needs to open their eyes.

I have the Sony 36FS12 and its a $1500 peice of crap. I am returning it to get the HX41. I have seen the HX40, but the HX41 is replacing it and fixing some problems that were in the HX40.
