The reader's digest condensed version -- get it in the DVD player, and make sure the TV accepts a 480p input. If memory serves me correctly, 3:2 pulldown detection will only happen with a 480i input. Here's our article on progressive scan technology to help you out.

I am doing a new home theater and would like both DVD Audio capability and progressive scan dvd. My installer has recommeded a Denon AVR-4800, Denon DVD-3300, projection will be a Sony Xp10x LCD. The Denon DVD player gets me the DVD Audio but not the progressive scan, Denon seems to make a new progressive scan DVD player (2800) but it doesn't do DVD Audio, even though it is considerably cheaper than the 3300. Why couldn't Denon put both capabilities in one player? Any suggestions?
I'm not sure of the release date but NAD will have the component your looking for sometime this summer, I'm awaiting it anxiously!!!
