In Reply to: New Lexicon Processor. The perfect processor?.... posted by beever on April 30, 2001 at 08:30:31:
I'll enter this lion's den with the comment I have read the Lexicon sounds great with movies but crap with music. If true that really bothers me as good music reproduction on movies is, IMO, just as important, if not more so, that surround sound effects.
Because of the above reputation, true or not, I went for the even more expensive Meridian 861 and I can report it is superb on music as well as HT. Even fed with a clean analog signal from vinyl it does not corrupt. No one yet has been able to detect any difference in sound between a signal which completely bypasses the 861 and the same signal through it. [I have a neat remote switch box which allows A/B comparison]
But I concur with the other posts, as all other processors tried here made a mess of the music.
