I'm just looking for some feedback on the brand in general. Input on the Sub One, anybody?
Follow Ups:
I've been running them exclusively for about 5 yrs now. Sound is definitely worth the scratch for the 2.9 and 3.3's. The Super Ones/Zeros are also excellent buys. I was really not all that impressed with any of the VT series. My only problem has been with the factory speaker terminals, they are pretty cheap and I've replaced them since with better. Warranty service has been quite good and if I remember is 5 yrs. I guess they have stood the test of time with me and I still don't think they are my weakest link.Bottom line....you get what you pay for.
I used to sell NHT Speakers, and have lots of experience with them. The Sub 1 Sucks, however if you can locate a SA-2/SW-2, which is the older version of the Sub 1. The Speaker cabinet & driver are the same, however the Sub 1 has a built in crappy amp, while the SW-1 had an outboard amp, the SA-2 which rocks. It's a true class G Sub amp, and it's capable of driving 2 SW-2's. You get 120 Watts at 8 ohm's and 165 Watts at 4 ohm's. I'm sure you could still find one of these gem's if you let you fingers do the walking around the net. This is a very musical Sub as well as a great Theater Sub. If you can't or don't want to fool with finding one, M&K Subs really are the best. The V-125 @$950 or the V-75 MKII @$700 are real stompers. Feel free to e-mail me with any further questions. Regards, Gary
