Yes you can set you DVD player up to feed ALL the info through the front speakers but it's just a glorified VCR without as much advantage as having Pro-Logic Sound.

The point of multi-channel DVD (5.1 or 6.1) is the sound radiating from speakers in multiple locations. An object can literally be moved all the way around you with sound. As I do not have DVD Audio in my system yet I can't comment on that, but as far as movies go, there is no other way in my book. Hell, I won't go to the theatres anymore ... 'cause the sound is better @ home and we serve free refreshments and pause for pee breaks!
