The 42" Panasonic looks fabulous! It actually produces real blacks! The Fujitsu 42" and Pioneer 50" were beside the Panasonic and they looked grey/green in comparison. The extra money for the Panasonic is definately well spent. A lot of people, myself included, have said that the Panasonic is the first plasma set they could live with. And Panasonic is coming out with a new 50" in summer, but expect street prices to be considerably higher than the current street prices of the Pioneer.

YES! I've seen the Panny 42". Bloody awesome. I've been comparing it to other Plasmas and there is no comparison. It's the only plasma I'd wish to own (and boy to I wish to own it). I've seen discussions on other AV forums stating that, despite the lower native resolution, somehow the Panny 42 has a better picture when directly compared to most Plasmas with higher pixel counts. My comparisons agree with this (so far).

I'm hearing rave reviews about what the Faroudja NR (native resolution) processor can do for fixed pixel displays!
"I'm hearing rave reviews about what the Faroudja NR (native resolution) processor can do for fixed pixel displays!"Most intriguing. Can you tell me where I can find more info/opinions on the Faroudja NR? (I'm sort of new to searching out video gear on the net).
Thanks,

scanning publications like Home Theater Magazine, and The Perfect Visionhere is Faroudja's site on the NR processor:
http://www.faroudja.com/products/dvp.htmlThis is the perfect vision website:
http://www.theperfectvision.com/news/news_0119_2.htmHome theater magazine's site:
http://hometheatermag.com/
That site gets a lot more high end HT traffic, and has a number of posts on the NR. See the processor section probably.
Also try www.hometheaterforum.com
Those are your best resources, as this site is mainly for audio enthusiasts.I would think there are cheaper alternatives to this product for comparable performance, but that is purely speculation on my part.

I know! I'm amazed that you can get a Pioneer 50" plasma for around $10k street! I bet there will be a waiting list for the Panasonic 50". Fortunately, rumor is that it will MSRP for around $16,000, so street prices should still be in the low teens.I'm already putting aside $500 a month in hungry anticipation!
