In Reply to: Sony or Panasonic DVD players, most reliable? posted by Keith H on May 24, 2001 at 21:20:43:
Maybe it's just my luck (and stupidity for buying more than once) but I've thrown away 5 Sony players - 2 laser discs, 2 CD and 1 DVD.
Switched to Pioneer still have the same one.Panasonic rules as TVs, don't know much about their DVD players
Follow Ups:
My collection of Sony stuff has it's ups and downs. The worst was a laserdisc player that was a POS from day one. also an early cheap CD player was not to great either. BUT!!! I had an ES 5 disc that played for 9 years straight, every day all day... I am certain it ran at LEAST 24,000 hrs before some wires connecting the optical pickup inside started acting up.
