I have recently purchased a Parasound HCA 2205A and am having some problem with a buzzing through my speakers. It seems to be some interference caused by my TV, a Sony Trinitron ( a couple of years old ). When I have only the amp on ( ie: no preamp, DVD player, nothing else ) and turn on the TV there is a noticable buzz through the speakers. There is no physical connection from the TV to any other component of my HT system and the cable TV line is disconnected. When I move the TV out of the entertainment center, away from the amp, the buzzing decreases until it is gone when I have the TV moved out a couple of feet. So, it's a proximity problem; but I would really like to have the TV and Amp live in the same entertainment center. Is there some kind of shielding I can use ?

First I would check for a problem coming through the power wiring. You could try a long extension cord to another receptacle to help diagnose. If you determine the problem is airborne, you might still be having problems receiving interference through cables that are parallel or non-shielded interconnects. Make sure all the cables are separated, or if they must cross, cross at 90 degrees. Perhaps you might try a copper sheet of some kind, grounded of course.
