I bought a Toshiba 1700 a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday while my son was watching a movie we had a power surge. I have the TV, VCR, and DVD player all hooked up to a surge protector. The TV and VCR are fine but the Toshiba is dead.
What happened is the thing dead for good?
Is there an internal fuse in this thing?
How do I get the rental disk out of my player?
I appreciate any and all help
Jerry

Jerry-Most likely it's a blown fuse but don't take any chances since this thing is still under warranty. Bring it to the store where it was purchased and ask for a replacement. Good luck!
it came from Best Buy so it shouldn't be a problem taking it back, but how do I get the disk out before I return it? I don't see any way to release the tray.
Did you try to unplug the power cord and replug it into the wall outlet to see if power does come back? If not you need to take the top off with a screwdriver (many cd/dvd units let you do it this way) to remove your rental disc, then put the cover top back on then return it. Hoped this helps
