Can someone explain this purported bug? What impact does it have? Will Sony be fixing this? Seems like a decent price for a 480p unit w/3/2 pulldown (if I understand this to be true). Any reviews out yet? How does it compare to Pioneer 434? Thanks in advance for help.

I went to the article that you recommended to Tony, but couldn't find any mention of the DVP-NS700P being affected by it. The article was very good for explaining the bug. I just didn't see the reference to this particular DVD player. I have one on order that should arrive tomorrow, so I am very interested. If I am just blind and missed it, let me know where it the article the NS700P is mentioned.
