I've got a 10 year old Mitsubishi 20" TV (doing bedroom duty) that suddenly started belching a loud piercing whine when it's turned on. The problem is intermittent but is happening at least 50% of the time. As a result, the speakers are blowed up and my wife gets her late night TV only half of the time. (On second thought, why an I complaining about this?)Any ideas? I suspect the power supply. Can this be fixed for a reasonable sum or should I retire the old workhorse?
If you're using a power filter/surge suppressor with it, try taking it out.-- Greg
Retire the poor girl. Last year, the national sales rep at Mitsubishi told me that the average life span of a TV is about 10years. Have some fun looking at what TVs have to offer today. You might be happier with a bigger screen TV or a DTV.
Put the old thing out of its misery . . .
