2)turtle beach sound card

think im wrong? a/b it with the best dvd player you can find!
Follow Ups:
We have. It doesn't compete with the best standalone players yet.Regards,
the ati radeon with the ati software is
better than a stand alone dvd player
i have a/b many players and the htpc blows them away
it is not even close!
keep in mind that this only is true for the ati video card
and player (which was not in the dvd shootout)
(of course if you dont have a 480p display and
a vga 15 pin input the standalone is the way to go)
Rob dude,We tested it at our latest benchmark that hasn't been published yet. We hope to have the writeups beginning sometime in July.
Regards,
please tell me i can get better dvd playback than htpc
on a dvd player thats under a grand! (ati card $75 - $200)
ps thanks for the extensive tests!
The Skyworht 1050p (a $300 player from HK) uses the Sage chipset, supposedly better performance than most HTPC's.
Yes, there are kinks towork out, but the advancement of scaling technology is so quick that I would bet that just like a office PC today is a POS in 18 months, so too is a HTPC scaler compared to what is becoming available in budget level components. The big advantage of scaling is with high reosltuion displays, wher the scaler can feed a native XGA signal to the projector or display, rather than just 480p
