I have been surveying the market and the basic choices come down to Solid Core Silver coax, Silver Plated Copper coax and just plain copper coax. My dilema is that in every case where I have used solid silver on the analog side, I have been pleased. On the digital side the frequencies are MUCH higher and from what I have read, the signal only travels on the surface...I have upgraded from the "included" el cheapos, through the Radio Shack "Gold" cables and to some custom Canare cables for both RF and composite video seeing marked improvement with each upgrade. I am willing to spend the $ if the component cables make a difference. Any thoughts? Thanks... Paul

I'm probably going to get myself shot down in flames for this, so do check it out for yourself, but I believe that copper is a better electrical conductor than silver is anyway. I would always recommend well made, well screened leads. I've never had any trouble following that philosphy. If you have component input or RGB input use these as they do make major difference to your picture quality, far better than S video connections or standard composite.Good luck

Silver is actually a better conductor of electricity, but that really just means it can carry more current per square cross-section than copper. I believe the difference is very small between the two, though.I've compared cables with both silver and copper and have found that a good cable is a good cable, regardless of the wire material.
