Hi,Has anyone heard anything about upcoming DVD+RW units? They
can record about 2 hours at DVD quality and 4 hours at
better than VCR quality. The disks can be played on any
DVD player or DVD-ROM currently out there. Last I heard
was that Philips was releasing a unit in September for
under $1000, and I think HP is releasing some PC drives at
about the same time. Does anyone know anything more up to date?M4R

The last time I heard was Philips should release it in October but price should be around 2K instead of 1K! Dell also joined the DVD+RW group and will be releasing some PC with DVD+RW drives. The 4 hours mode is much much better than VCR and also a 1 hour mode for direct IEEE1394 transfer from DV recorders.JCW
