I was watching Castaway and during the part of the film when he got home, I noticed a horizontal line slowly rising on the screen, over and over. It took about 4 seconds to go from the bottom to the top.
Any idea where that comes from? It's the first time I'd ever noticed this problem on a DVD. (CAL-CL20 DVD player)

Sounds like a line freq beat. Usually indicates that grounding can be improved. In my case I had to run an additional ground wire to one of the unused inputs on the projector - then it disappears completely. This is a very common problem.
No projectors here, just a regular old TV.
What should I do?

he says a cap is dying someplace. Although, I assume other DVDs are OK.
