Thank you very much for your information. Following your advice, I visited the website you mentioned and registered. But all the forum almost focus on the new processors like DC-1, MC-1, nothing about Cp3 or CP3+. I did post a message and hoped to get some response. Thank you again.

The CP-3 is a superb piece of equipment. It processes 2 channel audio from Dolby sound tracks and other audio. Although the CP-3 does its processing and signal manipulation digitally, it is limited to the analog formats. The newer models, like the DC-1, are different in that they process the digital formats like Dolby Digital and DTS. To say that the CP-3 is a "Pro Logic processor" does not come near describing what it can do. It can create a number of different ambiances and everything is tunable and adjustable. It will take a while just to plow through the manual and learn how to set it up.I'm using mine as a 2 channel preamp in my main music system. I'm also looking to get a second one if I can come by one at the right price.

Try to get a CP3plus. The difference between CP3 and CP3plus, as I was told, is the latter can create an early version of Logic 7. The surround channel in this mode is stereo as opposed to the mono in CP3. The unit is not in my hand yet. In my future set-up, I will mainly use this baby to listen to music. Surely, when watching movies the stereo surround, which is similar to AC3, is a bonus.

I have a CP-3 plus. I don't see how the surround channel can be in stereo. The L & R surrounds can be tuned differently as to level, and the CP-3+ does a lot of steering that other processors don't do, but non-digital surround processors get their rear channel information from the difference signal. There is no stereo information in the difference signal. It's merely out of phase information derived by interconnecting the positive sides of the two stereo channels.At any rate, the CP-3 is a great audio preamp. You'll like it. The only drawback might be if you have real inefficient speakers and like your music real loud. The Lexicon doesn't have that much gain.

I will use cp3+ mainly as a processor to listen to the music ambience and surround effect to complement my primary Audible Illlusions M3 preamp.I just received it yesterday; I will experiment with it to find out whether it really can create stereo surround when playing movies. I hope this is true because some experts in SMR forum refers its effect to be an early version of Logic 7.
