I've got everything for my two channel home theater DVD setup except a high quality 32"-36" TV monitor (not HDTV). Suggestions? Thanks!
Follow Ups:
I have to throw in my 2 cents worth.Look at the Proton (not Proscan at sucky Circuit City) NT-3460 (32") or the NT-3860 (36") (Not the most common brand, and poorly marketed but a MUST see; it's not cheap). Neither of these models are HDTV and anyone that has ever seen my TV (which is about 6 years old) Is blown away by the depth and colors (this TV produces an incredible black level which you need for that WOW effect).
However, it would be hard not to look at a HDTV because TV's do last about 10 years on average and the programming should increase. My next TV will be DTV.
My second favorite monitor is the diamond series from Mitsubishi. They do sell an HD upgrable set when your ready to upgrade to DTV capabilities. Something to think about, reaseach and ask questions.
Wait for the Sony 40" Direct View (kv40xbr700). Will be in Dealers in late August. MSRP is 3999 but standard discounted to 3499. The picture will blow you away and the bonus is that it will take 1080i.
See the above 36xbr450 posting. BUT. If the 40" is anything like the 36". Buy the 40". For a feeewwww hundred dollars, it would be worth it. Personally, I will beg the dealer to exchange it. IF and only IF!!!!! Just make sure that you have a strong back to lift it.
