I have a 2-channel setup of a Power amp
and a CD-player which also acts as my
pre-amp. The Preamp/CD-player has digital inputs
but lacks any analog inputs. Is there any DD/DTS processors which can
deliver the FRONT output as a digital/PCM
signal which could be connected to my
"digital" premap/cd-player inputs. The
center/rear channels should be normal
low-level outputs.Any other suggestion on how to add HT to
my setup is highly appreciated.Equipment:
ML 334 Poweramp
Proceed CDP CD-player/preamp
(Connected via XLR/balanced)
Follow Ups:
The MSB MDP-3X has 3 digital outputs (L/R, LS/RS, and C/Sub) as well as 6 analog outputs. Any combination of digital and analog outputs can be used and the delay and bass management works in both the digital and analog domains.Roger Kanno

Meridian processors are capable of outputting a digital signal, but I think Meridian's processors output a proprietary format that can't be dedon't know if its formatted so that your CDP can handle the volume.Theta processors might be capable of outputting a digital signal as well.
Also, I'm not sure this will work very well, as your CD player would have to control the volume (as well as the HT processor) and it is likely that the volume steps are not equally matched.
While not impossible, this will be pretty tough to accomplish....
