My mother will be spending a few weeks in bed recovering from surgery. She's a big movie fan, and I'd like to give her a modest home theatre system for the bedroom to help pass the time.Has anyone had any experience with any of the all-in-one systems? I'm thinking of spending about $600 for a system that includes a DVD player, a receiver and 5.1 speakers.
The only site I have found that has critical reviews is AudioReview. The Onkyo LSV-900 looks promising, provided I can find a deal.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

The Sony HT in a box systems are not bad for the price. I would say that they are some of the better HT in a box that I have heard for the price. The Sony DAV-S500 lists for around 600 dollars and has everything you need except a TV.

Thanks. Since my post I also found some good info on epinions and cnet. There are several inexpensive options out there. I'm going to give the new Pioneer model a try.
