I have a new JVC 32" TV which is attached to a Satellite system. The satellite signal comes in on channel 3, and appears to be fine. But I have noticed an anomally that may or not be legitimate. I control channels via the satellite receiver without problem. But if I try to change the channel on the TV, it won't increase or decrease from channel 3. Is this a problem with the tv tuner, or is it simply telling me there are no valid channels to be displayed other than channel 3 which is the satellite input. I can invoke the autotune process and it appears to scan through the blank channels. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

You might have to actually program in the other channels on the TV itself that you want to watch. I have an RCA TV like that at our coast house. 2x check your owner's manual.
If you want to see other channels on the TV, you need an additional signal input source (like an antenna, or cable). Then you should see other channels than just 3 on the TV. My satellite receiver even has this extra input RF connector on the back. I use a roof antenna here in Chicago area just to get channel 11 PBS. They've got a great kids lineup all day that none of the statellite channels match.
Yes it works like that, nothing is broken.
